Conemaugh Bridge No. 4 on the West Penn Trail

A short distance east of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, where I live, is a section of the West Penn Trail which crosses back and forth across the Conemaugh River along a series of old stone railroad bridges built over a century ago. They are stained yellow and red by the iron deposits washing out of the many flooded mines upstream. Westmoreland and Indiana Counties, Pennsylvania.

This painting was juried into the 10th ANNUAL REGIONAL JURIED ART EXHIBITION by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, Inc. at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley, PA, from November, 2005 to February, 2006. It was featured on the back cover of the show's program.

This depicts a favorite barn in Murrysville, PA, not far from my house. This painting won a JUDGES AWARD BLUE RIBBON in July, 2005, at the Penn Hills Arts and Crafts Festival in Penn Hills (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania. This painting also won an HONORABLE MENTION (oil) at the September, 2005 East Suburban Artists League’s Annual Members CCAC BOYCE Art Show & Sale in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
